FINALLY!!!!!!!!!

Finally. I have been trying for the past month to blog and have been unsuccessful up unto this point. So, I am going to put all three of the past blogs on this one entry:

Last week (that was 2, 3 weeks ago) was interesting. Jon wasn't joking when he said the work load was gonna get crazy, suddenly. I was overwhelmed with the analysis, but I figured out some things while doing it: Answering the questions and identifying my character's tactics and objectives were very helpful for understanding the skits in 365. Having looked at the skits and been unable to figure them out at all, I was surprised to find that by the time I was done with the analysis, I had unconsciously pieced together the skits and their meaning (well at least the meaning I came up with) in my mind. Cool.

PPL was different last week (this is 1, 2 weeks ago). Sarah introduced behavioral gestures to us, and I enjoyed it. I found myself more comfortable and (present?) performing gestures that I didn’t feel I had to think too much about. Having waved before, or tied my shoe before, or whatever it was, I was able to easily recall how I felt and the emotional response that I had last time I performed such an action. I think this may go against Kaplan’s theory, because I wasn’t really reacting to something that was happening on stage, but rather I was recalling what had happened to me in the past…

Ok, and this is for the past week:
I'll be very honest: I don't think that viewpoints is sinking in for me. I find myself not knowing what I am doing at all during our sessions of PPL. I am not good at the kinesthetic response thing. I find myself wanting to laugh all the time, because I can picture myself in my mind just walking around all serious-like in circles, and I just think it's funny. You guys may think that I am missing the whole point here, but at least I'm not faking. However, I think that Jon and everyone else in the class is very good at it. I can't even comment on my technique because I don't think I have one. I think that this is not my passion, and it's very possible that I am not "getting" viewpoints simply because I haven't tried hard enough, and I haven't tried hard enough because I haven't had the desire to learn viewpoints. In past blog entries I have tried to make stuff up, but I don't think that does anyone any good. I do realize that this is a class I'm taking, though, so I take full responsibility for my getting or not getting viewpoints.
